Born to sail

From a family of dedicated sailors and brilliant craftsmen a life in boating and design was inevitable. Having learnt to sail in a classic one-off dayboat called 'Cockleshell', the same boat that he still races today, it was the springboard to success in top class competition over five decades and the same passion continues.

Always happy to give advice on sailing, boats and design to encourage more participation, Jonty and his partner Vicki launched their Hamble Classics Regatta in 2016, and working with the Hamble yacht clubs deliver this superb late season classic regatta.

A regular contributor to yachting journals over the past twenty years Jonty also creates detail drawings and sketches to illustrate magazine features.
